Vrouwen van Nu bestaat 90 jaar op 14 oktober 2020. Dit zou groots gevierd worden, helaas gooide corona roet in het eten. Op dinsdag 12 oktober 2021 wordt dit jubileum alsnog gevierd. De film ‘Vrouwen van het Land’ is ook een onderdeel van het diverse programma en zal twee keer vertoont worden tijdens de jubileumdag.

16 september 2021 – Bathmen
Op 16 september zal de film ‘Vrouwen van het Land’ te zien zijn op een unieke locatie in Nederland. We heten je van harte welkom in de lakenvelder stal bij museumboerderij ‘De Pothaar’ in Bathmen.
Onder het genot van een hapje en een drankje presenteren we de film waarna we met diverse sprekers in gesprek gaan over de positie van de boerin in Nederland, beeldvorming en het belang van ‘Dag van de Boerin’.
Sprekers:
Nienke Deten, eigenaar van haar geitenhouderij in Holten, ze startte het bedrijf toen ze nog maar 19 jaar was.
Ineke Bronninkreef, melkveehouder uit Holten.
Deze avond wordt mogelijk gemaakt door Gemeente Deventer, de avond zal geopend worden door wethouder Liesbeth Grijsen.

9 september 2021 – Beekbergen

Na 7 jaar is het festival 4Evergreen terug! Tien dagen kunst en cultuur op de enk in Beekbergen. Overdag is er kunst van ca. 20 kunstenaars te zien, ’s avonds is er een divers programma. Op 9 september zal de filmavond Vrouwen van het Land te zien zijn in de tuin in Beekbergen.
In een prachtige buitentent krijgt u als eerste in Nederland de film te zien waarna we met lokale sprekers in gesprek gaan over duurzaamheid, vrouw zijn binnen een mannensector en de toekomst van ons voedselsysteem.

THE PROJECT
In the documentary Women of the Land, rural women of different generations throughout the Netherlands have their say. Documentary maker Annejet Brandsma investigates the (social) position of these women in our history on the basis of personal stories and historical (agricultural) developments. Together these stories contribute to a layered image of the identity, emancipation and position of female farmers in the Netherlands. The women’s stories are framed by the documentary maker’s personal development and reflections during the making process.
THE BACKSTORY
The Dutch image regarding farm life is formed by the TV show ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’, the children’s books Ot & Sien, the Farm girls calendar and the farmers’ protests in the national news. I was born and raised at the countryside and have a completely different perspective of the women of the countryside. The women like I know them are not represented in the media at all. And this while, over the years, she has always been present in the background. As a silent force within the family and business. This film finally gives these woman a stage. By letting different generations of rural women (spread throughout the Netherlands) tell their stories, powerful and personal portraits are created. We get to hear their side the story. About the different roles on the farm, the neverending work and the impact of major events in the world on life on their farm.
THE CREATOR
This documentary is being made by photographer and filmmaker Annejet Brandsma. Her work is often thematically related to the countryside. She previously made a series about ‘neighborship’ in Overijssel. In her work, Annejet uses the narrative power of images. By focusing on personal stories, she investigates larger social themes in a personal way.
